Metropolitan Home School Productions is an offshoot of the Metropolitan School of the Arts home school program which offers participation in a fully-staged play or musical each spring. Auditions this year are open to any home schooled student, ages 10-18. Enrollment in our Tuesday/Friday classes is (while encouraged) norequired.
We are pleased to announce that our spring 2019 production will be William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew.
This hilarious, fast-paced 75-minute version is in Shakespeare’s original language, with added songs, instrumental music and dance.
Taming draws upon a form of Italian slapstick comedy of the 16th-18th century called Commedia Dell-Arte. This production promises to be wildly fun, with something for every type of performer: actors, singers, dancers and musicians!
